Milwaukee 6391-21 15 Amp 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw with Blade on Left Review
For starters, the 6391 has a monster 15-amp, 5,800-rpm motor that produces 3-1/4 horsepower; that’s nearly as powerful as a worm-drive saw, yet this 7-1/4-inch Milwaukee model is more than one third lighter.
Look closely and you’ll notice that the blade is mounted on the left side of the motor. That southpaw position gives right-handed users a much clearer view of the cutting line since they no longer have to lean over their arm to see the blade. The 10.4-pound saw’s thick aluminum shoe tilts up to 50 degrees for bevel cutting.
The 6391 is also equipped with Milwaukee’s exclusive Tilt-Lok handle that can be adjusted to the most comfortable cutting position: to the rear for vertical cutting, on top for horizontal cutting, or anywhere in between. The No-Melt carbide-tipped saw blade is especially designed for cutting single or multiple stacked sheets of plastic without chipping or melting these materials. No-Melt blades are particularly suitable for acrylics, delrins, ABS (Coycolac), styrenes, PVC, and both high and low-melt nylons. Specially engineered side clearances on the carbide teeth significantly reduce -- and in many cases, totally eliminate -- any formation of melted burrs of buildup of residue on cross-sawn sections of plastic materials. Made with double-hard and 40 percent stronger C4 carbide, so you can expect 50 to 300 percent longer life between sharpenings. Forrest's blades offer a superior cut that leaves a rip-cut saw edge that is as smooth as if it had been sanded, and a cross-cut edge that is almost mark-free. The blades run very quietly, and backside tearout in plywood is negligible. Each blade is virtually hand-made. The plate is hand-tensioned (up to 15 minutes per blade), superior C-4 carbide teeth are hand-brazed to the plate, and the blade is straightened and restraightened multiple times throughout the process.
